Caboolture Hospital Redevelopment

About the project

By 2031, the population of Caboolture and surrounds is expected to grow by 51%. With all the extra people to care for, and with our hospital already near or at capacity most days, Caboolture Hospital must grow, too.

The Queensland Government has committed $352.9 million to deliver 130 new beds and significantly expand services at Caboolture Hospital.

Over the next four years, Caboolture Hospital will undergo a significant expansion and redevelopment.

The Caboolture Hospital Redevelopment will include the construction of a five storey Clinical Services Building and a targeted refurbishment of existing spaces.

A larger hospital requires more car parking and $41.7M has also been provided to deliver a new multi-story carpark.

The design of the new clinical services building is expected to be completed in mid-2020 with construction expected to start in mid-2020 and take up to three years to complete.

The new building and car park will be built at the front of the hospital, between the existing hospital and McKean Street.

Related projects

The development of the Caboolture Hospital Redevelopment and Multi-Storey Carpark will require the resumption of a large portion of the current car parking.

A new temporary, staff-only, car park will be built on the Caboolture State High School land adjoining Mewett Street. The current staff car park will be repurposed as a patient and visitor car park. This will help ensure there is enough parking for both visitors and staff, during construction.

The temporary staff car park is due to start construction in late 2019 and is expected to be operational in March 2020. Additional arrival and wayfinding works will be undertaken at the rear of the site to ensure arrivals to the hospital are clear, straight forward and safe.
