Caboolture families celebrate special birthday<\/h1>\n

More than 2,000 mums and bubs will celebrate an extra special milestone shortly as Caboolture Hospital\u2019s Holding Hands Midwifery Group Practice turns 10.<\/p>\n

Caboolture Hospital Director of Nursing and Midwifery Anne Clayton said over the past decade the group has helped hundreds of local mums deliver their babies.<\/p>\n

\u201cHolding Hands is based on a successful and safe model of care where the midwife is the primary carer for women during pregnancies, birth and the first few weeks of newborn care,\u201d Anne said.<\/p>\n

\u201cSince its inception the practice has celebrated the birth of 2,000 babies and all of those families are invited to a special reunion.\u201d<\/p>\n

The birthday party will be held at Jinibara State School in early June. The celebrations will include kids\u2019 activities, interactive displays and demonstrations, and free baby health checks.
\nMs Clayton said Holding Hands has a unique partnership with the Jinibara State School and is based in its Early Learning and Development Centre.<\/p>\n

\u201cCaboolture Hospital leads other hospitals in the state for the number of midwifery-led group practices that have been established in our region,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWomen who access midwife-led services are able to develop a very trusting bond with the same midwife or group of midwives.\u201d<\/p>\n

Holding Hands commenced at the Caboolture Hospital in 2006.<\/p>\n
