Angioplasty Service
The Angioplasty Service empowers patients to better self-manage their chronic conditions. We provide information on how to make lifestyle modifications to maintain a healthy heart and help to recognise the early warning signs that require intervention from a GP or hospital services.
Our service ensures patients with cardiac disease are cared for by a team of health professionals at hospital and have the appropriate support, education and follow-up care by community services and their GP after leaving hospital.
Our services
We provide services for inpatients who have undergone angioplasty+/- stent implantation. This includes:
- extensive education and support before leaving hospital
- care and assessment
- procedural information
- lifestyle management
- risk factor modification and chest pain management and identification.
We also provide support and education after discharge if required.
Phone clinics are available for all patients at 1 week and 4 weeks after their procedures. Our staff supports patients through all facets of their recovery both emotionally and clinically.
