A/Prof Kirsten Vallmuur and Ms Ros Wendt presented at a research panel at the RACS annual scientific committee trauma day held in Hobart in November, with Prof Mary Sheehan, Prof Russell Gruen, and Dr Ben Beck. The focus of the session was to show some current research examples to help demonstrate the complexities of undertaking researchon the trauma journey, but also to provide some potential support networks and to facilitate some brainstorming about potential gaps in research in trauma. The panel discussion included some of the methodological and practical challenges around undertaking research in trauma and illustrated the importance of partnerships between clinicians, academics, and government bodies.
