Opening doors to good mental health
The importance of looking after our own mental health will be a focus of this year’s Brisbane Mental Health Expo at Reddacliff Place in the City from 2pm-6pm on Friday 13 October.
The free Expo aims to raise awareness of mental health issues and reduce the stigma often associated with mental illness.
It brings together government and not-for-profit services in the one place to share mental health-related information and promote the resources and support pathways available in the community.
A thought-provoking afternoon program has been arranged.
Highlights include:
- Performance by guest artist LANKS
- Music for Health – Drumming for Mindfulness
- The art of healing: an arts and health panel
- Art and theatre workshops
- Displays and information stalls
The Expo is part of Mental Health Week in Queensland (8-14 October) and is a joint initiative of Metro North Hospital and Health Service, Metro South Hospital and Health Service and Brisbane North PHN.
