Professor Scott Bell has recently taken up his new role of Executive Director Research for Metro North.  Scott is also Director of the Adult Cystic Fibrosis Centre at The Prince Charles Hospital and has strong links with QIMR Berghofer Medical research Institute and the University of Queensland.

What is your personal philosophy?
Strive to be really good at communication in all aspects, and try to make a difference.

What three traits define you?
Early riser, enthusiastic, straight talker.

How do you define success?
Having a patient focus and seeing improved patient health by translating research into practice.

What was your earliest childhood career aspiration?
To be a pilot, but my vision wasn’t good enough.

In your job/specialty area, what question are you most often asked?
Are you in clinic today?

What would you want to learn if given the chance to learn it instantly?
To play the ukulele.

What would you most like to tell yourself at age 13?
Boarding school isn’t as bad as it seems today.

What’s one thing you couldn’t live without?
My family.

Where is your favourite place to be?
Noosa National Park

What are you listening to/reading these days?
The Waifs

Something not many people may not know about me is…
I’m learning the guitar.
