Professor Michael Breakspear named Researcher of the Year

Research into non-invasive technologies to unravel the mysteries of the brain has earned Professor Michael Breakspear the inaugural Metro North Researcher of the Year Award.

Prof. Breakspear is known internationally for his research in the application of brain network theory to understand psychiatric disorders.

His ground-breaking research will help address some of our biggest mental health challenges such as depression, bipolar disorder and dementia.

The Research of the Year was decided from winners of the seven Research Excellence Award categories.
