RBWH Healthcare Symposium

Date: 12-14 September 2017
Venue: Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Herston

150 years: where to next?

RBWH will again this year host the annual Healthcare Symposium showcasing the hospital’s strengths in research and innovation, fostering partnerships and reinforcing the commitment to provide a wealth of opportunities for physicians, nurses and health professionals.

The symposium offers an opportunity to join colleagues and to be informed on national and international best practice and innovation healthcare.

This year the event will be held from Tuesday 12 to Thursday 14 September concluding with a reception to celebrate RBWH’s 150thanniversary.

Program

The 2017 snapshot program is now available.

The RBWH is honoured to present keynote speaker Bernard Salt AM. Bernard Salt is widely regarded as one of Australia’s leading social commentators by business, the media and the broader community.

Bernard heads The Demographics Group, which provides specialist advice on demographic, consumer and social trends for business. Prior to this Bernard founded KPMG Demographics.

He is perhaps best known to the wider community for his penchant for identifying and tagging new tribes and social behaviours such as the ‘Seachange Shift’, the ‘Man Drought’, ‘PUMCINS’ (pronounced pumkins) and the ‘Goats Cheese Curtain’. He was also responsible for popularising smashed avocados globally.

Bernard has popularised demographics through his books, columns and media appearances. His body of work is summarised in six popular best-selling books.

He was awarded the Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in the 2017 Australia Day honours.

The full program including speakers will be published late July.
