Adolescent Inpatient Mental Health Service

On this page

The Adolescent Inpatient Mental Health Service cares for young people aged 14-18 years old who live in South East Queensland. We help young people learn about their mental health and find ways to reduce or cope with symptoms.

    Our services

We care for young people experiencing:

    • eating disorders
    • anxiety
    • depression
    • psychotic thoughts.

On week days, a qualified teacher holds lessons in the school room within the ward. We also have a daily group program that includes music and art therapy, relaxation, cooking groups and pet therapy.

Our treatment team includes a range of mental health professionals including doctors, nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, psychologists and dietitians.

We work closely with the community Child and Youth Mental Health Service and Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital.
