Rehabilitation Engineering Centre
We modify wheelchairs and mobility devices for people with disabilities. For over 30 years, we have helped people of all ages and abilities from across Queensland to achieve a better quality of life.
Our services
We work closely with your referring therapist and your support team to make sure your equipment meets your needs. Our team of clinical engineers aim to improve your comfort and posture by providing special features to your wheelchair including:
- Seat cushions and custom pressure relieving cushions
- Armrests, backrests and head rests
- Trays
- Footplates
- Chest and pelvic harnesses
We can also modify beach chairs, children’s car seats, high chairs and strollers.
We work closely with the Spinal Outreach Team at the Princess Alexandra Hospital to provide pressure relieving cushions to people with spinal cord injuries.
We also have close ties with the Queensland Paediatric Rehabilitation Service based at the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital.
