How to access this service

Children’s Ward

There are three ways your child can access inpatient services:

  • internally through the Redcliffe Hospital Emergency Department or Specialist Outpatient Department
  • planned admission for:
    • investigation of an undiagnosed condition
    • routine medical treatment
    • surgical and dental procedures
  • an inter-hospital transfer.

Children’s Specialist Outpatient Clinics

Your child will need a referral letter from your GP or medical practitioner to access this service. Your doctor should send this directly to the hospital.

Once we receive the referral, we will send you a confirmation letter. You will then receive an appointment booking letter with your child’s appointment date. Please note, your child will be allocated a category on the children’s outpatient wait list, based on the information provided in the GP’s referral letter.
