A new public health facility
A key deliverable of the redevelopment for Metro North Hospital and Health Service is the addition of a new state-of-the-art public health facility valued at more than $300 million.
Construction of a new 132-bed specialist rehabilitation and ambulatory care centre (SRACC) will begin in early 2018. The centre will comprise 100 rehabilitation beds, special purpose rehabilitation support areas and a surgical and endoscopic centre with a 32-bed surgical inpatient unit, seven operating theatres, three endoscopy rooms and recovery spaces. This facility will also provide for future growth and expansion.
It is anticipated that the new facility will be completed by end 2020.
