North Lakes Cancer Care Service
Cancer Care Services at the North Lakes Health Precinct provides Haematology, Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology medical consultation. Outpatient services such as chemotherapy, blood product support and therapy treatments for patients requiring low risk therapy are provided at North Lakes Cancer Care Services.
Our services
We have eight treatment beds/chairs and three consultation rooms to provide:
- low risk cytotoxic therapy
- blood product support
- supportive therapy
- medical consultations
- Cancer Care Coordination
- Pharmacy clinics
- allied health support
How to access this service
You will need a referral letter from your GP or medical practitioner to access this service. Your doctor will need to send your referral letter to the service through the Central Patient Intake service. If you are currently a patient receiving care at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and live close by to North Lakes you can discuss if you are able to be treated at North Lakes with your treating doctor.
You will receive a confirmation letter advising you of your outpatient appointment and what to do next.

Transport and parking
There is free parking for patients and visitors at the North Lakes Health Precinct. It is labelled ‘client parking’.
Public transport is available to and from the North Lakes Shopping Centre. It is a short walk to the North Lakes Health Precinct.
Buses
Buses run direct from various points including Mango Hill, Redcliffe, Kippa Ring, Kallangur and Petrie.
You will need to catch connecting buses from other areas such as Caboolture, Murrumba Downs or Bribie Island.

Trains
The nearest train station is Mango Hill train station 1.3km from the North Lakes Health Precinct. Bus route 687 travels from Mango Hill train station to North Lakes Health Precinct.
The Caboolture/Sunshine Coast Line stop at Petrie station.
Public transport will be required from Petrie Station. Bus route 680 goes from Petrie station to North Lakes Shopping Centre.

North Lakes Cancer Care Services only provides planned outpatient services. All inpatient services and emergency treatments must be referred to Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital, Caboolture Hospital, Redcliffe Hospital or The Prince Charles Hospital.
