Our people, our places

The inaugural Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital Art Awards are a creative opportunity for staff, patients and the wider community to celebrate and commemorate the RBWH’s people and places over the past 150 years.

The awards are open to the public including: current and former staff and patients, the South East Queensland community, other Hospital and Health Services, and professional and novice artists.

Artists are invited to submit artwork under the following four mediums:

• painting or drawing
• photography
• sculpture
• animation/videography (max. one-minute duration)

Entries will be exhibited over five weeks at the RBWH, with winners announced at an awards presentation night in November.

The following prizes will be awarded:

• First place (each medium)—$500 each
• Highly Commended (each medium)—$300 each
• RBWH Staff Award (any medium)—$300
• Executive Director Award (any medium)—$300
• 150 Years of Care Award (any medium)—$300
• People’s Choice Award—$300

Awards presentation night

All artists are invited to attend the awards presentation night, which will be held on Tuesday 28 November 2017 at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
