Kidney Supportive Care Symposium

Kidney Supportive Care  Symposium is an   opportunity to hear the world’s leading international speakers, new developments in Kidney Research and Supportive Care and showcase a blueprint for improved health services.

This symposium is in its inaugural year and is open to academics and clinicians including medical, nursing and allied health professional from:

  • Kidney health services
  • Palliative and supportive care
  • Aged-care
  • Chronic disease teams
  • Researchers
  • Health planners and policy makers

Program

The Kidney Supportive Care Symposium will be held on Friday 2 February 2018 at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital Education Centre, Herston. The full program will be released late  2017.

Keynote Speaker – Prof Fliss E M Murtagh FRCP PhD MSc MRCGP MBBS

QUT Visiting Researcher

Prof Fliss Murtagh qualified in medicine in the UK and is now the Professor in Palliative Care, Hull York Medical School, Associate Director, Wolfson Centre for Palliative Care Research, University of Hull and Visiting Professor of Palliative Care, King’s College London. She is experienced in providing palliative care to a wide range of people with far advanced disease and their families, and has published extensively on palliative and end-of-life care needs, especially for older people and those with advanced kidney disease.

She is experienced in development and use of tools measuring outcomes, especially development of the Integrated Palliative care (or Patient) Outcome Scale (see www.pos-pal.org). She  co-leads  a UK National Institute for Health Research-funded project to validate a case-mix classification for palliative care, and test different models of care.

Early Bird Registration $120 including GST: closes 8 November 2017

Standard Registration $150 including GST: 9 November 2017 to 25 January 2018

Your registration fee includes morning tea and lunch.

Please note your receipt may show the register’s name and not the delegate’s name. Your facility name will be listed on the receipt which can be used to submit a personal expense claim form.
