Transition support
MNHHS provides all graduate registered nurses and midwives support as they transition into their new role. Transition processes can be facilitated by:
- transition support programs
- planned skill acquisition/assessment
- seminars/clinical workshops/study days
- self-directed learning activities
- other educational activities.
Transition support programs
Transition support programs are contemporary, post-registration, clinical and continuing professional development programs. They are designed to support the attainment of a competent, safe and skilled nursing and midwifery workforce across the continuum of practice within MNHHS. Some transition support programs will articulate to post-graduate study credits with affiliated tertiary facilities.
Graduate information sessions
MNHHS will host graduate information sessions at Caboolture Hospital, Redcliffe Hospital, Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (RBWH) and The Prince Charles Hospital (TPCH) in July 2018. These sessions provide attendees an overview of the application process and the opportunity to meet with representatives from all MNHHS facilities.
How to apply
All applications for a graduate registered nurse or midwife position must be submitted through the Queensland Government Graduate Portal.
The Graduate Nurse and Midwife Recruitment Prospectus provides graduates with information in relation to the current campaign. It includes details on eligibility and priority criteria as well as general information in relation to your application. It is recommended that all applicants read the Prospectus to ensure they understand and are able to comply with the requirements to apply for a position.
Only complete applications will be accepted.
Complete applications include:
- completion of all required fields on the online application
- graduate summary
- CV/resume
- university transcript (unofficial if still studying).
What happens to my application once it is submitted?
MNHHS reviews all applications received. Applications which meet eligibility criteria and priority ranking 1 and 2 will be contacted via email for additional screening information.
Applicants deemed suitable for interview will be contacted.

Referee Reports
- All applicants who are offered an interview must provide 2 original referee reports on the MNHHS template. MNHHS does not accept referee reports on other templates.
- To avoid missing out on a position, please follow the requirements for referee reports.
- The referee reports information sheet provides answers to frequently asked questions.
- If you are having difficulty obtaining referee reports, you should contact the graduate recruitment coordinator at the facility of your interview.
