Jacana Acquired Brain Injury Centre
We provide complex and comprehensive rehabilitation for clients with an acquired brain injury (ABI). Jacana accepts referral of clients with acquired brain injury from across Queensland acute hospitals.
We work with the client and their families to establish realistic and achievable rehabilitation goals. The goal-setting process includes client and family education about the rehabilitation process and expectations of the program.
Our services
As well as meals and accommodation, clients can also access the following services:
- dietetics
- music therapy
- nursing
- occupational therapy
- physiotherapy
- rehabilitation medicine
- social work
- speech pathology.
We also have visiting services, including:
- neurologist
- pharmacy
- podiatry
- prosthetics and orthotics.
How to access services
We accept referral from health professionals from across Queensland. Carers may refer, but it is suggested to contact a health professional to assist the referral process. Please complete in the Jacana Acquired Brain Injury Services referral form and email to jacana_referrals@health.qld.gov.au
There is a fee which includes accommodation, meals, laundry and medications.
Parking and transport
Parking is available on-site. A regular bus service operates from Hoyland Street and the Bald Hills train station is a 30-minute walk away.
