In 2023 Metro North Health partnered with Griffith University to co-design and deliver the Leading Health Service Innovation program for middle managers, and emerging change leaders, including clinicians and health service administrators. Depending on your learning goals there are several options for engaging with the Leading Health Services Innovation Program.
Leading health service innovation micro-credentials
The Leading Health Services Innovation micro-credentials are designed in consultation with Metro North Health Staff and Executives to equip you with contemporary, leading-edge knowledge and skills to meet current and future health service needs.
Graduate Certificate in Health Services Innovation
Designed as a cohort experience for both clinical and non-clinical staff, every aspect of this program’s development has been influenced by Metro North Health Staff and Executive feedback. You will learn how to design and lead change through projects and change agendas.

As a clinician or health service administrator, you are a living example of your Hospital and Health Service values. Since 2018 Metro North Health has committed to working with academic partners to build the capability of Health Service Innovators to embed value-based health care through:
- Understanding the funding, organisation, and evaluation of health services Identifying health service problems
- Undertaking a thorough analysis of enablers and barriers to sustaining health service improvement
- Designing programs for implementation, and
- Embedding good evaluation practices that examine health and cost consequences of change.
- Embedding value-based health care whilst driving real-time frontline projects.
If you “lead from where you are” and know how your work (wherever you work), contributes to your Facility/ Directorate/ Stream/ HHS’s vision you may want to formalise and grow your experience through micro-credentials or the Graduate Certificate in Health Services Innovation.
